RECORDS THAT WON’T BE BROKEN. Going to turn my attention to NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball. Trust me when I tell you there’s no chance this record will ever be topped.

The record that won’t be broken is consecutive wins. That accolade belongs to the University of Connecticut. The Huskies under HC Geno Auriemma complied an astonishing 111 victories in a row from 2013 through 2016.

The more astonishing tidbit is how that streak came to an end. It was stopped by Mississippi State in the National Semifinals with a buzzer beating basket for a 66-64 overtime triumph.

Another sidebar is UConn owns the 2nd and 3rd longest victory runs at 90 from 2008 to 2010 and 70 between 2001 and 2003 respectively. Have to go to #4 before a different name shows up in the record books with Louisiana Tech at 54 wins between 1980 and 1982.
