WHAT’S BROKE & NEEDS FIXING. In Seattle for the next two weeks so the posts may be coming at a little different time. Doesn't matter where I am because I just can't let this group alone.

There are a plethora of things wrong with the National Collegiate Athletic Association. I’m going to start today with what I believe is broke and needs fixing with the NCAA but it may take me months of Mondays before I can complete this mission.

I’m going to begin with DI football. The powers that be in Indianapolis desperately need to come up with a finite long range plan on how the College Football Playoffs will evolve. The first order of business is to determine how many participants will be chosen for the CFP and how the bracket would be structured.

Here’s my advice on how to accomplish this scenario. First cap the number of teams at 16. Then have the CFP Selection Committee seed them #1 through #16 with highest playing lowest in the first round which would constitute 8 games. Two on Friday and Saturday as well as Sunday plus Monday. That would leave 8 teams still standing for the Quarterfinals with a pair each on Friday and Saturday. The 4 survivors would square off in the Semifinals with both tilts on Saturday setting up the CFP Final 8 days later on Monday.

No byes. The path is the same for every team. Win 4 games. Simple formula right?

Look for more of my ideas about other aspects of how the CFP should be constructed starting this season. Maybe I should contact the NCAA and offer my services as a member of the CFP Selection Committee. Couldn’t hurt to have someone in the room who isn’t beholding to any outside pressure.

Did I just say that. Yes I did.

BOOK IT DANO!
