WHAT’S BROKE AND NEEDS FIXING. The NBA playoff system is broke and needs fixing. Here’s why I believe that.

The fact that a 9th or 10th place team can get into the second season is ludicrous. The fact that a Miami who finished behind Atlanta and Chicago can win a couple of games and jump into the playoff picture just isn’t right.

My suggestion to the NBA. Go back to taking the top 8 teams during the regular season. If you can’t finish in the top 8 in your conference after 82 games you don’t deserve to get in.

Jettison the play in games format now. Make the regular season completely meaningful.

The 9th and 10th place teams both had 82 chances to get in and couldn’t cut it. End of story.
