Now Warming Up…MLB!

Let's start with the Opener.

***With the Yankees and Mets of New York dispatching of the Phillies and the Royals, there is already talk of another “Subway Series.”  The last one, in 2000, was all Yankees.  The NY hubris has this discussion alive and well on sports radio, but both NY teams will be challenged in their respective Championship series. Let’s see where the dust settles here before we consider this playoff-ratings abyss. What do you think?

Now to the Set Up Man.

*** Tropicana Field became an open-air stadium overnight when Hurricane Milton ripped off its 34-year-old roof.  The Trop has never encountered the elements and has had its share of disrespect for years from MLB and fans alike.  Since 1998, the Rays have never hosted an MLB All-Star game because of their home.  Perhaps a few hot summers without a roof would speed up their newly planned dome next door.

Now the Closer.

***Jazz Chisolm is making a notorious name for himself in this year’s playoffs while getting into it with the Royals through their four games.  The former Marlin stated that Kansas City was “lucky” to get a win in the series after it was tied at one game apiece.  Then, in the clinching game four, Jazz claimed that Maikel Garcia was a “Sore loser” when he made a skeptical slide into Anthony Volpe.  Chisolm seems to want to give opponents bulletin board material as he was vocal from the dugout throughout the series.  He seems to be a player most opponents dislike and teammates dislike a little less.
