7/16 - BREAKING NEWS by Leo Haggerty PFWA
BREAKING NEWS. Just when you think MLB can’t screw up any worse then they do. I’m referring to the way Major League Baseball chose to decide an extra inning situation at the 2025 All Star Game.
Now I get that each manager wants to get all the players into the contest and have not pigeonholed players for any extra innings scenarios. But to determine the outcome with a three player from each league Home Run Derby is borderline line laughable.
To me it sounds like this method of deciding on a winner was concocted on the fly in the 9th inning after the AL tied the score at 6 all. If that’s the case we should be happy the powers that be didn’t decide on a match race starting from the outfield warning track foul line to the finish line behind home plate.
That idea was probably thrown out early. You ask why Buddy? Because both teams wanted to be the hot dog in the race.
Now trust me that's funny. Sadly only people who have been to the ball park will get it.
BOOK IT DANO!
