7/19 - SCREAMIN’ FROM THE CHEAP SEATS by Leo Haggerty PFWA
SCREAMIN’ FROM THE CHEAP SEATS. What am I getting loud about today? Barking at the WNBA because today’s All Star Game will be a monumental barometer on whether the major area of interest is on the league or on a player.
I’ll be very interested to see what kind of attendance the contest will produce from Gainbridge Fieldhouse with #22 on the sidelines. Also with the Indiana Fever star guard out with a groin injury that will force her not only to miss the game but the three point shooting contest as well I will be taking heed of the number of fans that actually watch the tilt with the Iowa Hawkeye alum not participating.
The powers that be in the WNBA need to pay close attention to what transpires today. Is their fan base player driven or league generated?
When the data comes back the WNBA will have a crystal clear image of how the league is perceived. Is it a one trick pony or a bunch of thoroughbreds?
No debating that right Buddy. The proof will be as plain as day.
BOOK IT DANO!
