RECORDS THAT WON’T BE BROKEN. With this being the National Basketball Association Finals here’s a playoff record that will never be broken. Let’s look at career rebounds in the postseason.
That record is held by the legendary Boston Center Bill Russell. In 165 games the Celtics big man in the middle corralled an astounding 4104 rebounds. That leads the runner up by 81 who happens to be Wilt Chamberlain who posted 3913 boards in 160 playoff appearances.
The closest active player is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. In 292 postseason tilts The King collected 2628 boards and that trails Russell by a whopping 1476 rebounds.
As you can plainly see no one is going to get close to that number. Why you ask? #6 averaged just under 25 retrieves a game. Today it's almost a miracle if a player makes it to double digits in a contest.
