WHAT’S BROKE & NEEDS FIXING. What’s broke? All professional All-Star games. Fixing it will be extremely difficult with the best move may be to eliminate it entirely and here’s why.

Start with NFL. Too much money at stake for players to get injured in a meaningless exhibition game. It needs to be eliminated now.

Let’s move to MLB. Chances of major injury are not as great but possible. Just ask Ray Fosse who career was virtually ended when the shoulder that was separated by a head first dive at home plate by Pete Rose never healed properly. Also now determines home field advantage so needs to be kept around for the foreseeable future.

Now the NBA. Unless major changes are made it needs to be jettisoned immediately. Totally unwatchable.

Finally, the NHL. Give those guys credit. Saw the All-Star Game was a disaster, so it was replaced by the Four Nations Face Off and that was a humongous success. Look for that to continue in the future and possibly be expanded.

The other three major pro leagues need to take a hard look at what the NHL managed to accomplish. A complete metamorphosis. Either eliminate All Star games entirely or think out of the box like the National Hockey League did with unadulterated success.

Book it Dano!
