6/24 - RECORDS THAT WON’T BE BROKEN by Leo Haggerty PFWA
RECORDS THAT WON’T BE BROKEN. The NBA finals just wrapped up with Oklahoma City defeating Indiana in a breathtaking 7 game series. We also witnessed an NBA record when Chet Holmgren of the Thunder set the record for most blocked shots in an NBA Game 7 with 5. So that begs the question where does that stand when it comes to all playoff tilts?
Not even close to the record which is 10 rejections in a playoff contest held by 3 shot blocking machines. Mark Eaton and Hakeem Olajuwon along with Andrew Bynum share the mark and it won’t be broken.
Why you ask? That’s because the NBA has morphed into a three point shooting exhibition. Hard to block shots when the ball is 20 plus feet from the hoop right Buddy?
As you can plainly see that record is safe. No one will even get close to that double digit mark because shots beyond the arc are outnumbering attempts in the paint.
BOOK IT DANO!!
