Please LSU pull it out

LSU and their path the the College Football Playoff

November 03, 20242 min read

LSU and where they are:

LSU sits at 6-2 with two losses to USC and Texas A&M. The USC loss stings as USC bas not been a good football team, but it was the beginning of the year and some teams, especially LSU teams come out rusty.

The Texas A&M loss hurt, bad. As LSU at one point was leading 17-7 and seemed to be on the brink of dominating the game away. However, Mike Elko changed the quarterback and LSU was in no shape ready for the dual threat scheme that Marcel Reed would bring to the table. LSU dropped that game 38-23 and was a nightmare loss. Allowing A&M to storm back into the game 21 points unasnwered. That is unnacceptable. Two reasons for that in the game was no game plan for Marcel Reed and Nussmeier who threw THREE BAD interceptions, they were his fault and he forced some stupid throws.

LSU and what is their chance for the CFP:

It is easy. Win out. If LSU beats Alabama, beats Florida in Gainesville, and then beats Vanderbilt and Oklahoma at Home in Death Valley, it will be hard to say they are not in. LSU just needs to win out and allow the rest of the SEC to consume itself. LSU just needs to ensure they are not apart of that consumption. Alabama is the hardest game left on their schedule, however they could potentially lose all of those games as none of their remaining opponents are push overs, even Vanderbilt.

With the loss Texas A&M had against South Carolina last night, LSU is right back into the SEC championship race and can still be in Atlanta end of the season. SEC championship winner gets an automatic bid and the runner up, has a fair chance of making the playoffs themselves. LSU is just in that sketchy position of on the bubble right now. Any mistakes, ruin the season. This Alabama v LSU game here next week will determine both of those teams seasons, a loss evaporates any hopes of a college football playoff run. Expect both of these teams to be playing on fire that day.

In the end, it would be nice if LSU could win a season opener and could have a better gameplan for Texas A&M but the hope and dream of the season is still present. Tiger fans, it is time to hope and pray, just like Alabama fans are doing before this game saturday next week. Just need to endure and fight on. GEAUX TIGAHS
