LSU v Arkansas: LSU first all around game

October 20, 20242 min read

WHAT A GAME:

LSU put on a Show and wanted to surprise the college football world by putting a spanking on Arkansas. A lot of the college Gameday pickers and college football analyst were saying that this game was going to be super close and how it was a trap game for LSU. Boy, were they wrong.

How the game went:

LSU started with the ball to begin the game where they went down the field and put a touchdown up on the board. From that point on LSU never lost the lead nor did Arkansas ever have a chance to take the lead in the game. Nussmeier threw for 230 yards and zero touchdowns, however watching the game, Nussmeier was efficient and surgically took apart the Arkansas defense when needed. The surprise of this game on offense was the running game, Caden Durham Had 21 carries, 105 yards and three touchdowns in this game. This Arkansas defense was supposed to be one of the top rushing defenses in the SEC while LSU is supposed to be one of the bottom rushing offenses in the country. So to see the Tigers rush for 150 yards in this game was indeed a surprise.

Another surprise of the day was how well our defense played against Arkansas, the LSU defense only allowed 40 yards rushing, forced pressure on Taylen Green, and forced 3 turnovers. Two forced fumbles and one interception by Whit Weeks. With the pass game, Arkansas did move the ball a few times down the field, but the LSU defense was able to force them to make mistakes and capitalize all those mistakes. This is one of the first wins that was comfortable and was an all-around victory for the Tigers this year.

Brian Kelly in the presser after the game stated that this win was one of the best all-around wins he seen from the Tigers this year. What he means by that is this is the first game where the entire team made an effort and was technically sound to get a victory. In my opinion, the win against Ole Miss gave the team confidence and motivation to fight hard against Arkansas. They knew what was down the road In Fayetteville and were undeterred and stayed resilient to beat the Razorbacks.Great win by LSU and much needed.

LSU gets back to Baton Rouge today (sunday), and begin preparation for a daunting task next week, beating Texas A&M in Kyle Field at 7 PM Saturday night. That will be a rough environment But one LSU can definitely win. All in all GEAUX TIGAHS.
